ABOUT ICAI GUNTUR BRANCH

The Guntur Branch of the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of ICAI was established in the year 1981 under the visionary leadership of Late Shri CA Vadlamani Uma Maheswara Rao, the first Chairman, along with a committed team of committee members. Since its inception, the branch has been driven by a strong mission to uphold the values and excellence of the Chartered Accountancy profession.

The branch building was made possible through the generous support of Late Shri CA Nanduri Koteswara Rao and Shri CA Chitipothu Mastanaiah, while the Seminar Hall was contributed by Shri CA Madala Bhaskara Reddy. Referred to with pride as our "Mother’s House," the branch is a standing tribute to the unity and support of the CA fraternity and well-wishers In 2000, the renovated premises were inaugurated by Shri CA N.D. Gupta, Past Vice President of ICAI, marking a new milestone in the branch’s journey.

With a current strength of over 1,750 members, the branch plays an active role in promoting professional knowledge through conferences, seminars, workshops, teleconferences, and study circle meetings on diverse and contemporary topics. The branch also focuses strongly on student development. In 2008, under the leadership of CA Kothamasu Srinivasa Rao, it established a fully air-conditioned ITT Lab with 28 systems, which has since benefitted more than 50,000 students through Orientation Courses, GMCS, and industry-specific training programs.

The Guntur Branch has been served by 28 distinguished Chairmen, each contributing significantly to its growth and outreach. A matter of immense pride for the branch is that the first-ever Vice Chairman of SIRC from the state of Andhra Pradesh—our esteemed member, Shri CA Muppala Subba Rao garu—belongs to this very branch. We proudly celebrate this exceptional achievement, which stands as a testament to the leadership legacy and prominence of the Guntur Branch within the ICAI framework.
